its been such a long time since the last 'real post'. but there have been so many reasons behind being absent.
first, we moved. this was such a long awaited goal we had for almost 3 years. moving in during my busy season was crazy. (and that is an understatement). but exhilarating at the same time.
second, it was a busy busy season for me. i am so thankful for each and every sale, customer, convo, feedback...etc. running a shop on etsy while have 2 littles is a lot different than running a shop with only 1. if you own a shop, you know just how much time goes into every single detail. i strive to make everything perfect and at its best.
third, separating my work time from family time is quite challenging. its so funny that adding 1 more member to the family can take up so much of that extra time you once had.
which brings me to blogging and finding time to blog. i use to blog everyday during the week. and this past year, well. not so much. i am struggling even considering blogging anymore, but then again...it is my journal that has been going for 4 years now. i love to look back at what i was doing in january 2010, or in march. or maybe what my orders looked like during a certain month. more than anything, i find myself picking up my phone to share a photo on instagram. (search for ozetta)
i dont want to totally quit blogging, but i feel like i am neglecting something that i love doing. and this spring/summer is going to be quite different than any other year before. i plan on taking more time to be with my family and that means there will not be a new collection until the fall/winter. also, the shop is going to be going through a major change....and no doubt i will share once its happening. i like consistency, but its time for a little change as well. bringing in the new year always makes me feel this way. there will also be something that i have always wanted to do for the shop, but the spring/summer always took up so much time that it prevented this.
also, i will not be offering any discounts throughout the spring/summer. simply put, people dont really consider buying scarves in the midst of summer. however, i may do one more sale before long. so stay tuned for that!
i hope that everyone knows what ozetta is all about. the history behind the shop. the love knitted into each order. ozetta has been such a huge mindblowing part of my past, present, and future. its given my family and i things i would have never imagined. its more than a hobby. its considered my full time job. i pay taxes like anyone else. a lot of people think that just because someone works from home that its easy. well, i am sure i am not the first to admit~its completely far from that. its so rewarding, challenging, exhausting, fun, gosh. just so many things. its the very best thing i could ever ask for.
i also want to thank you. you. thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog everyday. or maybe once a week. thank you for being a wonderful customer. thank you for being a friend. thank you to all of those special people who wrote me personally around Christmas to say hi. my heart was so full with all of the kind words i received. above all, thank you for sharing the love i have for my ozetta shop. spread the love of the ozetta name. i hope that my knits will always be around to keep you warm and cozy. and i hope that ozetta will grow into something even bigger than i imagined today. than tomorrow. than yesterday.
so, yes. i may be more absent with my posts. but i am still here, though it will be far less than i use to because of time spent on the shop. and because of that extra time i want to spend with my family.
if you read this full post, i certainly appreciate the time you gave. enjoy the start to a new year. be something different. do something you never thought you could do. go be someone, go do something. just do.
lots of love,
ozetta

Very well said! As an artist/mom/wife, I hit alot of these same things you mentioned. How to juggle it all is a process that is ongoing. Kudos to you for prioritizing. I will keep being a loyal follower - your work is such an inspiration! It has helped me look at what my grandmothers taught me about crocheting, quilting, etc. and motivated me to continue on their traditions as well. Looking forward to what 2013 brings - and enjoy your time with your little ones!
